Silver Status

Once you hit Silver (the next Status Level on from Red), you’ll have some fabulous perks come your way.

Here we explain what you get and how to continue to move on up to Gold.

Silver Status perks

Here’s what you get as a Silver Status Member flying Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue and V Australia.

Lounge pass to Virgin Blue’s “The Lounge

  • One complimentary pass to Virgin Blue's The Lounge within Australia for you and a travelling friend.
  • Valid for 6 months from the start date of your Silver Status Membership.
  • Simply flash your Silver Card together with your flight itinerary or boarding pass for onward domestic travel with Virgin Blue on the day at The Lounge reception. Find out more

Lounge Membership for less

  • Yearly Membership is a low $249 and you don’t need to pay the join fee. (That’s a total saving of $319 on your first year).
  • Note that if you already have Membership to The Lounge, once it’s expired you can then take up the Silver discount deal.
  • Perks include being able to breeze through the airport and check in at The Lounge for domestic flights and having a place to work or unwind before your flight. Find out more

Free checked baggage

  • With up to 23kg of checked baggage, you don’t need to pay when flying Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue.

Priority Check-in

  • Priority Check-in is available at major airports in Australia, NZ and Bali.
  • When flying V Australia you can access Priority Check-in at the fast-moving Premium Economy counter.
  • When flying Virgin Atlantic, you're entitled to Priority Check-in through the Premium Economy counter.

Personalised baggage tag

  • You get 1 personalised baggage tag. Secure it to your carry-on or checked baggage.

Priority phone service

  • If the line is busy we’ll ensure you jump forward in the queue.
  • You’ll find the number on the back of your Silver card.

Bonus Points

So you can reward yourself faster we give you:

  • 6 Points per $ spent on Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue fares (1 Point more than Red)

How to reach or maintain Silver Status

To reach or maintain Silver Status, you must collect more than 20,000 Status Credits by flying with Virgin Blue, V Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue during your 12-month Qualification Period.

  • It’s easier to maintain Silver being a Silver Status Member as you collect Status Credits at a higher rate than those on Red (see the table above for details).
  • To ensure Status Credits are allocated to your Account, just remember to tell us your Membership Number when booking your flight.

Your Silver Membership Card.

When you rise to Silver we send out a new card. Your card contains information about your Status and helps you keep track of important dates, like the annual Membership Review Date.
