There are three Velocity Membership Status Levels – starting at Red, moving on up to Silver and ending up at Gold. To move higher up the ladder to Gold (and receive more perks), you must collect what we call Status Credits.
Overview
You collect Status Credits when flying with the Virgin Blue Group – i.e. Virgin Blue, V Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue – and it starts from the moment you take your first flight as a Velocity Member. Status Credits are automatically allocated to your Account after you have flown – just remember to quote your Velocity Membership Number when booking.
Collecting Status Credits
Your Membership Level is the first factor that determines how many Status Credits you collect. The next is the airline you fly.

Moving up the Velocity Status ladder
We monitor your Account daily. Once you have enough Status Credits to hit either Silver or Gold, we immediately upgrade your Account.
- To reach Silver you must collect more than 20,000 Status Credits during your Qualification Period.
- To reach Gold you must collect more than 50,000 Status Credits during your Qualification Period.
Not to be confused with Points
People often confuse Status Credits with Points, so here’s the basic difference between the two:
- You collect Status Credits to move up Status Levels to receive more perks from Velocity and the Virgin Blue Group
- You earn Points to redeem on flights and shopping instead of paying cash.
