Status

When you join Velocity, you have the opportunity to increase your Status from Red, to Silver and then Gold. You are able to move up the Status tiers by collecting Status Credits. You can collect Status Credits by flying with V Australia, Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue and Virgin Atlantic.

The higher you move up the Status ladder, the more perks you receive when you fly! Here we explain who gets what and how to go for Silver and Gold.

Starting out at Red

When you first join us you receive a Red Membership Card. This entitles you to:

  1. Earn Points to redeem on flights and shopping instead of paying cash.
  2. Collect Status Credits when you fly, to move you higher up the Membership ladder to Silver and Gold.
  3. Redeem for any available seat, anytime - no blackouts, no restrictions on the Virgin Blue Group airlines and our Airline Partners.

Find out more about Red Status.

Moving up to Silver and Gold Status

Moving up to Silver and Gold Status can be done by collecting Status Credits. You collect Status Credits every time you fly with V Australia, Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue and Virgin Atlantic.

To reach Silver you must collect more than 20,000 Status Credits during your Qualification Period.

To reach Gold you must collect more than 50,000 Status Credits during your Qualification Period.

We monitor your Account daily. Once you have enough Status Credits to hit either Silver or Gold, we immediately upgrade your Account.

Status Credits - what are they and how do I get them

You collect Status Credits when flying with the Virgin Blue Group - i.e. Virgin Blue, V Australia, Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue - plus when you fly with Virgin Atlantic. Status Credits are automatically allocated to your Account after you have flown - just remember to quote your Velocity Membership Number when booking.

Collecting Status Credits

Your Membership Level is the first factor that determines how many Status Credits you collect. The next is the airline you fly.

Not to be confused with Points

People often confuse Status Credits with Points, so here’s the basic difference between the two:

  1. You collect Status Credits to move up Status Levels to receive more perks from Velocity and the Virgin Blue Group.
  2. You earn Points to redeem on flights and shopping instead of paying cash.
